Stumbled across this while following a coyote. This is heavily cropped as I saw it from a ways off as it caught my eye as I disturbed it without knowing it was there. I had been wanting to see one standing, rather than just halfway out of the whole, so it was pretty cool to see.
This coyote was okay with me slowly following from a distance for quite a while. We stared at each other several times. I kept hoping I'd see it pounce as it hunted, as it was looking closely at all the holes in the ground, but it never did.
